Originally from Los Angeles, Denver based producer Inquuit is unstoppable. After moving to Colorado to attend University of Denver in 2018, August Smith started his production journey in 2019 after experiencing the depth of the electronic music scene at venues such as Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, the Black Box, and the iconic Red Rocks. Having graduated college and immersed himself various DAWs-before finally settling on Ableton-his musical style can be described as powerfully eclectic, dance-driven, and amorphous, breaking paradigms in the electronic music scene.
“I grew up hearing a lot of jam. My family are huge Grateful Dead fans, and had me playing piano and drumming from the time I could do so. Moving into electronic music production as I grew older felt natural, especially in the digital age, so I started tinkering around in Ableton in 2019. From a hobby, it turned into an obsession for me. Producing music makes me feel like I live in a world of endless potential, and it turned into my escape from reality. All these years later, and I’m finally graduating college and ready to make music my reality full time, and with the help of my friends, I’m confident we can bring some light, joy, and dance to the somewhat scary world we all share.”
